Of course, Peter did put it better than I. I think it was for my creative use of the word "mind-screw." ;D

Stargate, Lost in Space............ Hmm. Stargate was ok, though I prefer the TV series... Lost in Space didn't have an ending...!

Hey! I said I loved Lost in Space, did not say it was perfect!
I know, LIS did not have an ending, so I am hoping for a sequel... new edition on a series..

^^^I wouldn't hold my breath, Aurian. It didn't get good reviews and even the fans of the original series didn't do cartwheels when they saw it.
You probably didn't see the Original Series, but they recently released them on videotape as a possible movie tie-in strategy(like The Avengers).
Either Amazon.com, Amazon.uk.com, or any European equivalent or video outlet may have them available if you're having withdrawal symptoms or simple curiousity regarding where the concept came from.
As I said in another post, good hunting.

I agree with Aurian. (Hey, that's twice in the same twenty-four hours! We should get married or something. Er...uh, wait...nevermind. ) Anyway... Lost in Space was an excellent movie...allow me to quote from my earlier post in this very same thread:

Some favorites would be Galaxy Quest (possibly the best Star Trek movie yet), Forbidden Planet (still looks good almost 50 years later) and Starman (a little hokey perhaps, but I enjoy the sentiment it portrays and Jeff Bridges's performance). The only bad ones I'd reccommend would be those that got sliced and diced by the Best Brains at MST3K -- I love those guys and truly miss them!

^^^You should rent or buy the MST3K movie as well as videotapes of their shows, which I found at Suncoast Video. I'll have to wait until April '02 to see if a video dealer taped their "appraisal" of ST5. You actually liked "Galaxy Quest " I admit I laughed when Alan Rickman wanted to drown his sorrows "at a pub" when they thought they were going to die(reminded me of several Brit actors I've met at conventions), but I've read and watched several Trekcon sendups as well as two classic fanzine stories "Visit to a Weird Planet" that explored the possibility of the real Kirk, Spock & McCoy appearing at a con and "Visit to a Weird Planet Revisited" which had a reversal of the theme(the actors appear on the real Enterprise). It was funny 25 years ago, but I laughed very little when I saw it there!Maybe it's just me.

Total recall, best film ever, and still debatable as to weather its real or a dream.

I do have and enjoy MST3K:The Movie although there are many episodes I prefer. I'm pretty sure ST:V was done in the style of MST3K, but not by the Best Brains. I'd still like to see it as that film is definitely ripe for the plucking. As for Galaxy Quest, I thought they struck a nice balance between parody, homage, comedy, action and FX. I felt it was made by people who truly had knowledge of and respect for their subject.

Both of my recommendations have already been posted several times, but I shall praise them again.
The Matrix: I have this in my collection. I am always amazed at the number of people who haven't seen it. So, I sit them down in front of my TV and blow their minds. I have the movie soundtrack too. Even it is great.
The 12 Monkees: This was an amazing movie. I am not a Bruce Willis fan, but he really shone in this one. Brad Pitt was also excellent. I am going to re-rent this one myself as it has been a long time since I watched it.
Don't forget to check out Star Wars again just to see the MAGIC!

The Galaxy Quest DVD has an entire track that is in the Alien language. THAT'S dedication. (of course, it's not like Klingon which IS a language, it's just squealing and such.)

I'd still like to see it as that film is definitely ripe for the plucking. You misunderstood my post, Icenine. ST5 was shown on an episode of MST3K complete with comments from Our Favorite Peanut Gallery. Paramount couldn't possibly give these brilliant madmen permission to do with this what they've done with their review of schlocky, limited-release films, re-release them as MST3K tapes. Possible but highly doubtfull.Perhaps. That's why I'm submitting to the possibility that mine is a solitary opinion of the film. If you've heard a joke for the first time, naturally you'll laugh, but if you've heard it before, and you thought it was told much better before this telling, you won't. Again, maybe it's just me!
