Well... hmmm... a word description. Boring.
Sorry folks. Not a strong episode.
It's major plot focus (or point) seemed to be to show us how fast Enterprise is.
At one point Archer answers that question with, "It's called a Warp 5 engine, isn't it."
Who ever directed this episode was givin a chalange. Make us watch Enterprise acomplish all it's goals and make it exciting. Impossible.
What would have made this show better is if we actually felt taht they could NOT make warp5. Heck, I would have loved to see the kind of thing that Geordi did. BREAK the rules. Let's see the warp 5 engine go warp 5.5 maybe.
Or, hears a wacky thought, push and push and just as the smiley Mayweather is about to say Warp 5, have the thing blow up on them.... Oops. maybe we AREN'T perfect, as the show promised to show.
Unfortunatly we see self gratification. It's never fun to watch someone say "look what I can do" when it's a fictional enviroment. Feats of speed and strenght mean nothing in those cases.
You may have noticed I'm ignoring the so called plot. So did the writers it seems. For me, this episode seemed to be nothing more than an excuse to go faster. (Not to mention that had Archer not wasted his time backtracking, they'd met with the Vulcans hours earlier and none of this would have BEEN an issue.)
Sorry kids... a faulty episode, that biggest fault was that it didn't entertain. A BAD episode is OK, as long as it holds the attention of the viewer. Fallen Hero failed to do so.

The only problem with an awesomely fantastic episode like Vox Sola is that it raises the bar for all future episodes.
Fallen Hero was likable, but it didn't even come near said bar. There were a few small details that I liked about this episode, but for the most part it was pretty standard issue.
I liked how the Vulcan Ambassador put out her hand to be shaken; very deliberate and precise -- very Vulcan, so to speak -- you could tell it was not a natural motion for her. I liked how Archer used the "bureaucracy" excuse to buy time. I liked learning that the Phase cannon can't be fired at Warp.
But I have to agree with UT; it seems like this episode was written in the 15 minutes before they started shooting it. There's just so much more they could have done with it.
5/10

For once, I'm gonna have to disagree with you UT. I liked this episode cause it gave us insight into the vulcans. We have seen our share of them over the years but I focused my attention to the ambassador character and I don't know why, but I liked her personna very much. I thought the shakings of hands was great. I liked the character maybe because it was so different from other vulcans, probably the willingness in her attitude toward another species...
As for the warp 5 subplot, for a subject that has been over and over (breaking the barrier of technology), I thought it was well done. 7/10
