::sniff:: No, but my mom went a couple years ago. She was planning a trip to Vegas, and I mentioned that the Star Trek thing was there, and she said "OH Great, I'll go!" She did get me some stuff from there, though, including a book of matches from Quark's Bar, which I thought was pretty neat.

I wish I could go see it, but living in Australia it's king of difficult. It would be so great to sit down in Quark'e Bar. I heard that you get "beamed". How exactly does that work??

That sounds so COOL!! It's the closest we can ever get to beaming in our lifetimes. I can imagine how awesome it would be to beam onboard the Enterprise D. Then being served in Quark's Bar, how cool. Are the dabo girls there too? I really have to check it out one day. I'm going to start saving from now

I was one of the original crew members at The Experience (I worked in the Admiral's Collection) and for me the best part was the Museum. It features hundreds of actual props from the shows and movies, a detailed timeline and several video displays. I also enjoyed the costumed performers, all of whom do a very good job (say hello to financial advisor Bleeg, but watch your wallet). It's definitely worth a visit.

I had heard that the Experience was on the verge of being shut down due to financial considerations. Is it still going?

Oh I would love to go there! Its only an +11 hours flight ;D I was to my first Trek exhibition this Saturday, at the Techincal museum in Stockholm. It is the same exhibition that has travelled around the world now. I enjoyed it very much. Brought home some goodies to. *cannot be trusted with the VISA card..* A TNG red and black uniformshirt and a commbadge for my boyfriend. I posed for some pictures with some "Real" Trekkies ( as opposed to me..closet trekkie) in a science uniform, but unfortunately I could only afford to buy one uniform .. and I kind of wanted boyfriend to wear it for a new-years eve masquerade we are going to. I also bought my son a voyager t-shirt and a calender for me. ;D It was really cool. No famous actors though. Only alot of cool gadgets and props, clothes etc from the shows.

( as opposed to me..closet trekkie) I sympathise with you... I have to be very covert. The only time I am "trek" outside my home is when I go to a video rental place, or to Forbidden Planet - big sci-fi store. However, I am never seen wearing anything trek... I'd be shot on sight...

^Why is that? Most of my friends are the outdoorsy, lumberjack types, (NOT in the Python sense) they hate Trek.

I'm just dreaming about the Las Vegas thing, but the traveling Fed Science exhibition was here a couple of years ago... IMO it was disappointing. The best part was the props and costumes -department, but the science stuff wasn't that special. Probably would have helped the case to have a minor or couple in entourage, tho. I was far-sighted enough to leave Mastercard home, but unfortunately I had birthday coming and a couple of humorous friends with me, so... As a result I have life-sized, two-dimensional, phaser-pointing Lt.Cmdr. Data standing next to my computer (right now wearing a Finnish national hockey team hat-- anyone have a spare XXL brownie's cap? )! I curse it every time I'm vacuuming but it's kinda fun to watch the reactions of unprepared first-time visitors... ;D

Well I was impressed!
Ofcourse, I had so much fun there I might have a "tainted" view of how good it was...
