For Petie's sock! The quantity of responses to that in such a short time... I refresh the page after a few minutes and it's been viewed another 40 times since I first opened it. How much are they paying him to do that I wonder? Too bad we can't get him to come here......

Hm the gullibility readings on this tricorder are off the scale. Maybe it's malfunctioning... yeah... that's it.

I don't know... if it weren't for the special little member category thingiy under his name I wouldn't begin to believe it. Still, it could be one of the TrekBBS admins... in that case they could get sued though

I seem to remember Shatner's daughter posting at TrekBBS awhile back and mentioning that she was going to try and get her dad to take a look around..I guess he took her advice.

I wonder if those people actually expect him to read all those messages.

Yes. It is him. His daughter visited a while back, and we know it is authentic from a note on www.williamshatner.com and the fact that they e-mailed. It is him. And note that the first thread was a gusher. 5 post. A warning from T'Bonz. More gushers. "Here is one of the team that started the whole Trek phenomenon. It is ironically humorous to look at his BBS profile and see him listed as a "Junior Member"." [Mutai Sho-Rin] Lots of gushers. Not one bad word. Posts reply 238...

I was soooooo hoping it was going to be a con.
(Read 2427 Times) so far.
This is going to beat that thread in TNZ as most popular. And after all the comments about people having a go at him if he did post! Whimps.

Oh, they'll start soon, don't you worry...
Also, when that happens, how long do you think it'll be before he asks for the thread to be closed. Or he just leaves permanently...

All those nice replies will give his ego a good massage.
It's the threads that will start afterwards that the Mods will have to keep an eye on..............
Think I'll be staying out of TOS for a while

I agree that the post is real, but I doubt that he wrote it himself, he would have had one of his 'ghost writers' do it for him. I had David Hartwell, the Senior Editor at Tor books, visit my home a couple of years ago and he told me that most of Shatner's books are written by other people.

The mods better be keeping a real close eye their TOS forum there... surprising it hasn't turned into a madhouse...yet...

[After all, he did tell us to get a life] Well he's certainly mellowed since that skit, hasn't he?

I'm with Technomage on this. He probably wrote an outline of what he wanted to say and some pros re-wrote it for him.
*sniff* It has a whiff of Goulart with just a touch of Garfield-Reeves to give it personality.
