...depicted in Star Trek.
Would you sign up for Starfleet?

I'd probably serve a hitch to "see the universe" then go renegade like members of the Maquis did.

Dunno if I could cope with the 'military' life, but a civilian star ship possibly. If they'd have me. (might fail the psyche test)

Considering the fact that I started this, I might as well reply...
I would, certainly...

Well, it it was the 24 century as ST predicts.. NO WAY! I'm not in the US army for a reason. I don't wanna! (I'm a lover not a fighter ) No, I know exactly what I do... Theatre. That was I WAS going to do until that silly family (Gavin) thing came around. BUT, in the 24th century, Earth is quite communistic (or at least everything is so cheap that it may as well be since there's no poverty or anything) I could do what I loved and STILL feed that family of mine.

Well as you probably know, I was in the US Air Force for years in my younger days Where I was a Security Police officer, And trust me folks if this non-conformist, Idealistic, and just sometimes strange Mod Zeph can do that in the 20th century I think we all could in the 24th century. There would be rules to follow like no smoking near the Warp Core........um I think that's my problem... nevermind. Rules as to how to keep your hair for guys.... short and cut to a...... oh wait this is probably my problem too.... nevermind. Seriously you would spend time in school learning important things like the History of the Federation (insert your favorite Enterprise joke here). The basics of warp technology, see being Zeph I invented this stuff... no problem. Prime Directive... I like mine medium... what? Oh, directive not prime rib. Physical training.... you want to be able to RUN to the escape pods if the ship is blowing up. Basic phaser use... you dont want to be handed a phaser rifle for the first time when you get the Borg welcome wagon at your hatch. In truth (no jokes here) you do have to learn what is important in order to serve aboard a ship, not only what's important to your safety and well being but to your whole team.... But I think if any one of us had a lust to go to the stars you would endure it and thrive once you got into space. One last thing...in the Air Force I carried a M-16 automatic rifle with a grenade launcher attached to it.... I was Real Good at blowing up things. Now you know why Reed is my favorite Enterprise character ;D

Oh, this is an easy question. Absolutely, positively, NOT! The stars are way too dangerous! Those people on starships have BIG problems every WEEK! Now, Earth, on the other hand, is allegedly paradise. No poverty, crime, disease.. you can transport to Japan or Egypt or Paris for lunch, and everyone is happy. I'd be like UT-I'd go the theatre route.. In our time, acting is such a difficult thing to break into, unless you're interested in waiting a lot of tables, you're gonna most likely starve. I, too, had an interest in the theatre arts, but the reality of economics made me decide to go a more practical route. Oh sure, I might take a vacation to Risa or some other nice planet every once in a while, but live in a starship? No thanks, I'd rather live to be 100+ years like all the 24th century, non-space-dwelling humans seem to

Oh, I'd love to, but I doubt they'd have me, I'm too lazy. If I did get in, I'd probably end up with some cushy office job at Fleet Headquarters and never spend any time on active duty in space. Besides, I doubt I'd survive zero gravity training. If we don't need money then, I doubt I'd have the motivation to go out and get a job anyway ;D

Is there mail to sort in the 24th Century? Will there be Catholics to sort it for?
I'd probably do a 4-year hitch right out of High School, save up all my credits, and then open up a Yarn & Knitting Supplies store. I could call it "Knit One, Purl Q".
