Spad! Hiya Woohoo, another Janewayite. Hooray for Mr Pickles! That done, this is my very favouritest Mary-Sue site: www.sff.net/people/thyme/marysuewhipple!.htp Wonderful stories, and if you survive the page long enough to scroll down there are some great Mary-Sue essays and 'litmus tests'. My personal take on Mary-Sue is that done well , they can be great. A Mary-Sue can give a reader a fantastic way to become involved in the story. A good Mary-Sue is there for anyone to identify with. A bad Mary-Sue is just...dull and they get in the way, like the irritating kid who jumps in front of the bride and groom in wedding photos. I'm reading fan fiction for the Trek characters, not to read about a sanitised, glowing perfected version of the author.
