I've just recently started modelling in 3D. I decided to start with the Enterprise-B. I'm going to start with the bridge module first. The page linked below has my latest render. www.geocities.com/niytaan/entbwip.htmBTW, I'm using POV-Ray, and as this is my first time using it, updates may be slow as I learn.

I've added a more recent render to the page linked above. I smoothed the edges and modified the circular platform. The previous image is still there for comparison.

Thanks, although I have to redo the second platform tomorrow. It's the wrong shape and I just tried to reshape it but it came out horrible. Maybe some rest and fresh ideas will help.

Another update. I spent an hour perfecting the shape of the second platform. I darkened the platform, rendered it and added the image to the page.

Another update. The bridge is now there! I worked for a few hours this afternoon creating the bridge buldge and such stuff.
Hehe, I'm throwing out updates faster than you all can post! ;D

There's no way to turn POV-Ray models into other 3d formats because the coding for POV-Ray is too different than that of Max, LW and other such 3D software. BTW, thanks!

Fantastic job, Niytaan! I've just started to play around with Max 4. It takes someone who has tried their hand at modeling to truly appreciate what you've done.

It takes someone who has tried their hand at modeling to truly appreciate what you've done. *thinks of the very incomplete Ent-D saucer module buried in some dusty corner of her HD she started modeling many moons ago* Indeed.. Good work, Niytaan! Mentat, you happen to have been playing around with Max for long enough to be familiar with Boolean operations...?

Thanks, all! I should have the basic shapes of the saucer done sometime in the next few hours.

Mentat, you happen to have been playing around with Max for long enough to be familiar with Boolean operations...? LOL. No, sorry, Gnom. That stuff is beyond me. I just made a nice looking cube shape, though. I printed it out and stuck it on my refrigerator. ;D

I just made a nice looking cube shape, though. I printed it out and stuck it on my refrigerator. ;D Sounds vaguely familiar... ;D i am familiar with bioolean, shpaemege etc..and i am a newbiw to max..:-D Okay, then... Ahem; can you tell how the heck one can make multiple holes into an object without crashing Max or/and the computer but without having to 'drill' them one at a time? EDIT: Who zapped the profanity filter?
