It's a 1953 Dodge Truck. It's old, rusty & in-need of restoration.
I'm here to ask your opinion. How should I restore it? Should I go the route that makes it more valuable (Restore with all original parts.) Or, should I do it the more high-tech, newer stuff. Worth Less, but more comfortable. (Newer engine, bran new interior ect.)
That's my dilemma. I would personally like to go with the later since it's for my use, not for selling. I'll post some pictures soon.

If its for your own use just make it usable to you, don't bother with the restoration to original.

Surely you have to be older to legally drive in the US...? Still, do with what you feel is best... It's your car, after all...

My father restores cars as a hobby, but has never done a truck. To answer your question, I'm going to assume you want to show it. It just depends what shows you want to take it to. Most shows have the two split into catagories. The option where you use original parts is very time consuming and either way you go, it's going to be very expensive. Start saving your quarters.

ST: I can't drive 'till I'm 16, but I can sure start restoring it so I can.
Tir: No, no car shows. Just for me.

Well, unless you really want to go in for Classic vehicle shows, where you will need everything as authentic as possible, my personal recommendation is get as modern and clean running an engine as possible and just do what ever you get inspired to do with the rest of it!
Enjoy.
