Yet another famous person has died this week...
As of this afternoon, Britain is without a queen mother...

This is a very dark week. She had a full life anyway. But it is still sad. RIP.

Oh, how sad. I think a lot of Americans loved the Queen Mum too. Our thoughts are with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family during their time of loss.

During my time in Britan, You could not help but come to love the Queen Mum. I remember being in a record store one day( this was 1980 so they were not cd shops, but record stores.) and hearing a punker saying to his mates "All Royalty S**cks,...Ecept for Mum o course, ...sweet ol bird that one." She was well Loved an will be missed, I mourn with my fellow Brits.

By all accounts, she was a charming lady who lived an enviously long life. But she'll be deeply missed on both sides of the Atlantic.

Here in the US we lost Milton Berle, who had a great influence on early television, and Billy Wilder, director/producer of excellent movies like Some Like It Hot. Plus Dudley Moore, best known for the movies 10 and Arthur. All in all a very sad week.
