Perhaps it's so good that Star3 hasn't been able to tear himself away from it to come tell us about it... ;D

Indeed. He may have just sat there playing it, and now has died of starvation... Oh dear. *worries*

I see I've been neglecting this thread...oh well, spring break will do that to ya... Anyway, I haven't gotten to play it as much as I'd like, but so far Bridge Commander seems fairly good. The actual mission in the demo is really short, so most of it is ship to ship combat - Galaxy vs. Warbird, etc. The controls take some getting used to as do the rearranged bridge stations on the Galaxy class (my only complaint). I'll get back to you on what I think of the game after I've gotten to play it more. The demo itself is 112mb, took me around 45 mins to download. It runs well on my 1ghz P3 and hasn't crashed, died, or screwed up my computer as of yet.

I picked up a copy of Bridge Commander this weekend. Good game actually. Those of you that know me know that I'm a stickler for canon, and the folks at "Totally Games" did their homework. Pluses: - Nice graphics and 3D rendering – you actually get a sense that Galaxy class is a big ship, for example)
- Wonderful Plot – as far as I’ve seen
- Great soundtrack
- Small learning curve – Controls are easy to learn and Capt. Picard himself does the tutorial
Negatives - As star3 mentioned, the Conn, Ops and Tactical stations were all switched one position counterclockwise. This makes sense for game play purposes I guess.
- I did have one crash so far. (I broke my own rule and bought an Activision game before the first patch came out. You think I would have learned my lesson after Armada.)
- You can only save the game at certain points in the mission.
Overall, I give it a "thumbs up." ;D
