Yeah, me too, I like Mirror Mirror. Where No Man Has Gone Before was pretty neat, I liked Mitchell(mostly because of...what book was it, Enterprise or Strangers From the Sky which had him in it). Tribbles was funny, Amok Time I liked too. Let This Be Your Last Battlefield was all right, but hardly one of my favorites. Space Seed was awesome, along with Balance of Terror and Shore Leave.

Balance of Terror, The(so far) first appearance of the Romulans. The kind of deep space submarine battle feel of the whole episode added an edge to it as the two captins play a chess game of life and death. Plus the added bounus of Mark Lenard making his first of many ST epps Live long and prosper Mark....we miss you

Amen to the Mark Leonard tribute! I had the pleasure of meeting him twice, on a radio phone-in show and at a convention. He was a gentleman in both circumstances! He will be deeply missed!

It is a shame how it is clear that an era is ending. DeForest Kelly, Mark Lenard, slowly time is advancing...

Doohan is most likely next (Not trying to be morbid) Evidently his health is going downhill FAST.

I last saw Jimmy at a Chiller Convention in Northern NJ and at 75 he seemed a frail shadow of his livelier self 12 years previously when I first met him in Trenton, my home town BTW!
In '87, he drove cross-country in a rented car by himself and still had enough energy to exchange anecdotes, sign autographs, drink scotch(yes, he really liked it) and pinch the occasional ladies' backside!
In '99, he needed assistance to enter the room where fans asked him questions, mine was regarding "Relics" and he smiled and said,"They(the TNG cast) treated me like a king!" The only thing that convinced me that he was still Jimmy was the moderator's reference to Jimmy's wife's refusal to make love to him if he said anything bad about Shatner. Other than that, it was a sad hour for me with moments of joy sprinkled in.
Yeah, it's ashamed that our heroes aren't immortal, but at least they live on in celluloid and our memories.

I agree that Doohan may be the next to go, but it really annoys me (and I'm glad that no one here has done this) when people start rumors that he's dead. The last time was this past winter or spring, I think. And I remember back in 1990, some Trek fans thought he was already dead back then.

I may have been chronologically wrong but I knew he was in his late 70's since he was a young man when he participated in World War II in the equally-young RCAF. A dad of eight at 81....Way to go, Jimmy!

He was in his early 80s or late 70s when he had his last child, and his wife is in her 40s! What a man Doohan is!

You can say that again! I believe she was, and presumably still is, a Trek fan when she met him. Who said dreams don't come true for fans and, in this case, lucky actors. I've seen her picture in Jimmy's book "Beam Me Up, Scotty!"(no lie, that's the name of the book, I've got it!) She's very purdy!

My favourite TOS episode has to be 'Mirror, Mirror' and 'Balance of Terror' and 'The Enemy Within'. Sorry that's three. Who is Frank Gorshin? James Doohan is from Nova Scotia, I think. Some of the best Trek actors are from Canada.

Frank Gorshin is a fairly well-known(except by you apparently, young man) actor and celebrity voice impersonator. He played the first(and best IMO) Riddler on the original Batman TV series. If you see "Let This Be Your Next Battlefield" he played Bele, the Charon police investigator who tracked down Lokai, the shuttlecraft thief, for centuries(don't remember how many, sorry) until he ended up chasing him on their home planet with no known resolution.Even Shatner? Kidding! Sorry if my acronym obsession confused anyone, but RCAF stands for Royal Canadian Air Force. He was attached to the British Army under General Montgomery himself! He lost one of his fingers at the Normandy Invasion! Could have been much worse, but OUCH!
