In Generations, First Contact, and to a lesser extent in Insurrection - Riker has been virtually ignored. In each film he has been good, but he never has one of the more prominent roles, yet he should. I'd like to see him more in Nemesis.

There's good chance for it since Frakes isn't directing this time.

I want more than that for him. I want captaincy for him. I know it wouldn't have been possible in the serie, but why doesn't he have his own ship yet. If they can make false excuses to bring back Worf from DS9 for a movie, it would need just a bit of creativity to bring back Riker with or without a ship...

I would certainly like to see Riker get his own ship. But I would only like to see it right at the end of the final TNG movie. I want to keep him as XO, and so part of the crew for as long as possible...
I'd like to see the future of the individual members of the crew all in the final credits of the final movie. For example, they could have photos of: Picard as an admiral, Riker in the captain's chair, Data as first officer next to Riker on the Enterprise E, Worf as the tactical officer, LaForge in engineering, Crusher as head of Starfleet Medical, and so on.
And then, overlaid at the bottom of these shots/photos, we have the cast members signature, much like ST:TUC. This would mean that they could make a good movie, with some, but not all, themes of the end of an era - and the movie would end with the futures of the characters...
I think that it is a good idea...

If they can make false excuses to bring back Worf from DS9 for a movie, it would need just a bit of creativity to bring back Riker with or without a ship... Twice they've done that with Worf... I think it would be best to have Riker promoted at the end of the movie to captain if he was promoted. By the way... is Worf supposed to be in this movie?

...a black background for this or my spoilers will show! So, highlight for SPOILERS: Worf will be there. The Riker-Troi wedding that is supposedly taking place in the beginning of the movie will probably serve as an excuse this time...*

^^ Joy...*rolls eyes* I like him, but enough is enough. I'm going to stop right there so as not to ruin it for anyone...

But why would he not be there? [That was suitably cryptic, was it not...]
Insurrection was the worst. They just faded out his voice while he was talking.

Welllllllll.....Riker always vanishes into insignifcance when Frakes directs, so we have a better chance of seeing some more Riker action, maybe even a little loving riker action too But without giving away the movie I can say that the script so far has Riker pretty much in the limelight more than Worf, but unfortunately it's another Picard / Data story line again

Good, black background.. OK, for those that have been patient monkeys and haven't read the script that has been available for over a year on the internet...
[Non specific, barely -spoilers] Changes occur. Much like at the end of DS9 when some characters moved on and GREW (and the same happened in the original 6 films), Finally, after 15 years, the crew of the Enterprise D/E finally get to grow (more than beards and a /commander to their rank) [Specifics]
Riker get's married to Troi They both are moving to a new ship (not until the end, but we know about it the whole time) Worf quits his Admiral job and goes back to Starfleet Crusher moves on to Starfleet Medical Laforge, like Scotty, is an engineer, nothing more. Data... well, he WON'T be first officer on ANY ship (note, that does NOT exclude Spiner from future movies)
I think many of you will be pleased with the new script, unlike the previous 3, it shows us things we've NOT seen before, character DEVELOPMENT, and it's very fun to see Picard ENJOYING his job, and seeign WHY he's a captain..
BTW, it's not really black. It's 272A2F And the other color is 444444

BTW, it's not really black. It's 272A2F And the other color is 444444 Thanks. I've been too lazy to find it out exactly... On the topic, from the script [if it's valid], I expect Nemesis to make a good movie [Patience? Huh?]. Everyone seems to have something to do in it. It's understandable that Picard and Data have the spotlight in the movies: those are the characters who were most developed during the series thus are best equipped to carry a movie. I have nothing against Geordi or Beverly but the episodes concentrating on them usually weren't from the strongest end. Building an entire movie on their shoulders is an unrealistic idea. The best you can hope for the movies is that the rest of the cast can give strong backup for the main pair and have something for themselves as well. Nemesis does look promising in that.

For those interested, Troi does have a good part in this film. More than just, "I feel confusion, Captain"
The most ignored is Geordi I believe.

The most ignored is Geordi I believe. I, too. If it isn't about his eyes or perennial bad luck with women, there just doesn't seem to be anything for him, and-- hold on... [highlight for spoilers] * Did the script mention something about him being together with Leah Brahms? *

Yes it did, but it also ignored the fact that...
Wesley is at the wedding. Lwaxwana is NOT - rumor is that they mention her death
So it IS an outdated script, but it's basically what we'll see on the screen.
