They played this episode the other day in the "4 am DS9 rerun" slot. I taped it, and I've since watched it twice.
And instinctively, without realizing I was doing it, at the closing credits I said these words:
"Holy S**T, what a great show!"
There was so much going on. I counted and the episode followed seventeen separate characters, doing justice to all of them, and leaving the viewer drooling to find out what happens next.
The battle to defend the station is easily one of the most exciting space battles we've seen on television, and the closing shot with the Defiant and the Rotarran joined the rest of the fleet was truly a great visual.
I think what is amazing to me is that I've seen this episode before (although it had been a couple years), and it still made my heart pound just as much as it did the first time around.
I (heart) DS9.

Many of my friends were like, "DS9 without DS9? That's stupid!"
However, we all know that the difference between Bravery and Stupidity is success. And DS9 was a success IMO.
(BTW, same criteria for Genious/Insanity)

I think given the nature of DS9 and the fact that the station was as strategic as it was, it was only natural for the Federation to lose control of it briefly during the war.

Loved 'Call to Arms'. I also loved the end of that arc 'Sacrifice of Angels' (Can't remember the name of the episode it continues from.) The death of Ziyal was perhaps the saddest thing I have seen on DS9. I really liked Ziyal as a character. When Damar killed her I thought I was going to cry. Especially since I saw it around Final Exams...
