Besides Bashir and Ezri, there were a lot of great pairings as far as characters went. Example, Odo/Quark, O'Brien/Bashir, Sisko/Dax,& Kira/Odo to just name a few. any favorites? and why?

We must not forget Sisko/Dukat, Nog/Jake, Rom/Quark, Quark/Brunt, Wayoun/Dukat (and Dumar, his replacement)
Kira/Dukat, Quark/Zek, Kira/Obrien/Keiko

Sisko / Dukat - Fantastic
Nog / Jake - Became a little tedious after a while, though both characters were good individually.
Rom / Quark - Good, because it was not overdone. Perfectly illustrated in WYLB , when Rom steals the disruptor and leaves the note... very good. "You will kill them with a box?" Or words to that effect.
Wayoun / Dukat - So so. Overshadowed by Sisko/Dukat.
Wayoun / Damar - Very good, always new, and always well acted and written.
Quark / Brunt - Brunt was annoying.
Kira / Dukat - Ok, but abandoned a little.
Kira / O'Brien / Keiko - Became stupid.
Bashir / Ezri - Not given enough time to develop, but what we saw was good.
Odo / Quark - Again, left a little as the war started, but always good. Not tied up in WYLB properly, however. The split was far too downplayed.
O'Brien / Bashir - This was one of the best, and most strongly pushed pairings. However, just like Odo/Quark, it was finished inadequately.
Sisko / Dax - With Jadzia was good. And was ended nicely in Tears of the Prophets. Sisko/Ezri was good in Image in the Sand, and the season 7 openers, but again, did not develop for long enough.
Kira / Odo - We all wanted to see it happen, and when it did we were happy. But again, it was given a poor ending.

My favorite was always O'Brien/Bashir or Bashir/Garek....once they brought the character of Julian to life, instead of being just a genius idiot(sorry..I really did like him at the end but at first ) This was a example of the "pairings" that made DS9 cool, it was never just one person but a pair and the interaction between them that added to the show. Much like the Kirk/Spock or Spock McCoy years earlier. I cant think of a equivalent in TNG or Voyager to quite match this.

I *loved* the Damar/Weyoun relationship toward the end: "It's as if you're.. half-dressed. Oh, yes, you don't have a bottle in your hand!"
I also enjoyed Jadzia/Quark. It was nice that someone on the station actually seemed to like Quark. He may be a weasel, but even weasels have *some* friends.

I agree 100%. It was the pairings that made Deep Space Nine such a great series. My favorite was definitely Bashir and O'Brien. Who would have thought that by the last episode they would become best mates. I think Voyager tried to do the same with Kim and Paris but it didn't work as well, I think because Kim stayed the same, unlike Bashir, who changed over the course of the series, and became less "green" and "inexperienced".
I also thought the Kira/Dukat relationship was quite interesting. Kira resented Dukat as he represented everyhting she hated. And in that ep "Wrongs darker than death or night"(I'm prett sure that's what it was called) Kira finds out Dukat seduced her mother. They was really a startling discovery and an interesting devlopment. Kira already hated Dukat, and now she finds out he slept with her mother. I know a lot of ppl didn't like this ep, but i thought it was an interesting development in the Kira/Dukat relatiionship.
There are sooooo many more to mention that i really liked, but you guys have basically covered them all.

I'd have to say that the best (non-romantic) pairing would either be Bashir / O'Brien or Bashir / Garak. Odd really because Bashir is far from from favourite character but these relationships really seemed to stand out and were developed pretty much throughout the seven years. Of course, the Garak bits were always particularly well written and with that character no wrong could be done.

Of course, the Garak bits were always particularly well written and with that character no wrong could be done. Truer words were never spoken, my friend. Also, I don't know if I'm in the minority of not, but I really liked the Worf/Jadzia relationship. Here was this repressed Klingon who rarely laughed (Anyone know how many times Word has ever laughed onscreen?) and this woman who was practically the embodiment of a good time. By the way, Great avatar, Haagen Dax

I loved the whole Worf/Jadzia thing from that bruising first romantic encounter through You Are Cordially Invited... right up to the bitter end. It was great fun. I have it in Ezri flavour too (A little lady I know did them for me.)

That is too funny...could the lady that did them be our own dear Ezri?

Didn't take long for that bit of innuendo to appear. Still, at least it came from your husband, Ezri..
