I guess I'm just a sheltered person.... But I actually didn't know about Spacedock until I met the owner of it at the Trek BBS. I was looking for web supporters for the movie petition and he offered to help by hosting a banner here. So I decided to look around, then I joined. I've noticed that the atmosphere here is a lot more civil than at the BBS. Especially when you compare this forum to their "Neutral Zone" forum(I don't go into that forum anymore). If anyone has been there you probably know what I'm talking about... But it's not always a bad place.

^^^ Yes it is. (Kidding! It was my "cyber-home" for almost two years before I got sick of it and moved here...)

So was there any particular part about it that you didn't like?
I don't think I can give that BBS up, because I promised to keep our fellow Niners there updated about the petition. I'd do the same here but I'm not sure yet how well received that would be. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was just promoting it. (Also I'm a regular contributor to their Fan Fiction forum.)
Whoops, I've gotten us off topic. Sorry about that...yup, that "Way of the Warrior" was a great episode... ;D

So was there any particular part about it that you didn't like? To be honest, I hate to open up old wounds... I have no hard feelings and no regrets. All of my friends there had moved on...and the couple who hadn't also post here...so I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. Don't well-adjusted people just make you sick? ;D

I see. Well, in any case I'll try to participate here a little more this week and see how it goes. So far, so good! I've had no problems. My first week on the Trek BBS a year or so ago was a little more confusing because by the time I got there every topic I began was replied to with "Why are we bringing this up again?! We've already been through that a million times!" They had apparently discussed everything there is to discuss and I had to go through every single forum to find out if what I was about to say was said before. I still do that. I think they're more tolerant about those things now but that's probably because of the new series and movie.

The Way of the Warrior was first on while my daughter was being born. I'll never forget it. It was a wonderful and miraculous experience! (Oh, and so was the birth.)

You know, that reminds me of something that happened to me a few years ago when I went to see the Star Wars Episode 1 priemire. It was such a big event that the theater seats were assigned by number, like they are at a concert or sporting event. When my wife and I sat down, there was an empty seat next to us -- highly unusual for such a long-awaited priemire. Out of curiosity, I asked the man on the other side of the empty seat if it was his. "Yes," he said, "I bought it for my late wife." I immediately felt sympathy for the man. Here was someone who had planned to share this special event with his wife far in advance, only to lose her before getting to enjoy it with her. I expressed my sympathy, and the man thanked me. But again my curiosity got the better of me. I turned to the man again and said, "It's such a pity that you're here alone. Surely you must have some friend who could have attended such a long-awaited priemire with you?" "No...they're all at the funeral," was his reply.
