This is more like it. It's a very well done episode. Entertaining, but just a pinch over doing the whole "He'll have to make up his own directives" lines.
One thing that struck me was how Trip (the young man) seemd to take things harder that old Man Archer.
Now, granted, he is the hero of the show, but he seemed to have no problems, while Trip was dying!
I like that we never discover who is the good guy. Enterprise big problem has been over issuizing things (that's a new word) One of the worst episodes, Roque Planet was very guilty for that. It was also what lowered the rating for Detained. They seem to try and SHOVE the message down our throats like and after school special.
Taking that toll usually goes to Bakula (who seems to be taking on... Kirk like characteristics... it seems sometimes.) Hopefully the writers will tone it down and he can get more comfortable with that role.
Desert Crossings only real faults come from those. T'Pol "Don't mess with other cultures is the way to be" speach that Hoshi catches her on is a prime example of scenes that should be CUT before filming to make more room to explore the true plotline.
BUT, all in all, a good addition (even if Mayweather the uber pilot was not used for his skills because the Guest star of the week got that honor.)

^^^Just edited the spelling of "Desert Crossing", UT.
Desert Crossing... Trek does Archer of Arabia, I thought while watching the preview.
In the end, an enjoyable show, though I wish all of the crew were involved more in the show. (Same with Fallen Hero.) Am I the only one who thought "Quidditch" when they were playing their Desert LaCrosse game? And the Alien's accent... let's make it Russian/Arabian so no-one gets offended?
6/10. I also like how they are arc-ing FH, DC, and next week's Risa episode together. Boy, these guys really need some R & R!!!

I liked this one. I kept expecting a sandworm to pop up and eat them, but that's from watching Dune over and over. ;D I have to seriously question Archer's wisdom about "crossing the desert" in this episode. I've taken some survival training of my own and Trip was right...you should never EVER try to cross a desert during the day, especially if you only have a liter or two of water. And 30 kilometers is out of the question. I'm not sure whatever happened to their shuttlepod, but I'm willing to bet we'll see it in the next episode safe and sound. They would have been a lot safer in there with the air conditioning on. Of course there wouldn't have been much of an episode then, would there?

I too noted the Voyager-esk Shuttle issue. I kept thinking... "and the shuttle is......" Never got a good answer.
And yes, I too was thinking.. Cross the Desert (or Dessert as I asume I spelled it). Good idea moron boy (but at least it's not a continuity flaw, a bad decision is NOT an episode flaw. It's a character flaw.)
