Gnome: Pithy carries a negative connotation. It means insignificant. Maybe the word you're looking for was minimalist? Note I didn't say anything about your banner to warrant its removal. That was entirely your decision without provocation. Thanks but I think I'll pass on building up to more elaborate ones. Inspiration has left me from several angles this morning I'll just lurk from here on in. You people have fun.

Gnome: Pithy carries a negative connotation. It means insignificant. Maybe the word you're looking for was minimalist? It's difficult, if not impossible, to be aware of all the connotations in English words when you live in another linguistic area and rely on what the dictionary tells you. The (seemingly) direct translation for "pithy" in Finnish has no negative connotation whatsoever. It basically means to imply that someone has grabbed the essence in something. From now on you can be sure I'll be restricting myself in harmless and non-committal adjectives like "good" whenever I wish to express my positive feelings! No doubt it was my decision to remove it, but it was also diffult to avoid the impression that you found it's presence disturbing. It's been fun and instructive making these banners and seeing what other people come up with. I've been using the tools I'd need to practice anyway, and it's been nice to have something concrete to aim to. If this, however, is beginning to lead into ruffled feathers, I'll rather leave the stuff sitting in my HD and find another practising target. My apologies if my ignorant use of words has a part in ruining your inspiration, Holodoc. I still think there's plenty of room for everyones ideas.
