To Gnomm: Zane Grey and John Irving! Interesting! I've heard that Europeans have an unusual fascination with our Western stories. Possibly comparable to our fascination with stories about knights and castles. It's easier to be mesmerized by another country's culture than your own, I guess. I liked some of Irving's stories until he seemed to be more a Vonnegut wannabe than a writer with his "own voice." Sorry if meeting the man himself left a bitter taste in your mouth. Even the best authors aren't the friendliest of people in real life, I've found. Speaking of which, To Aurian: Since you appear to be very adept at translating from Swedish to English, I was wondering if you can look up in one of your more popular Swedish Dictionaries the name "Harlan Ellison." He's another popular American author who's not known for having proper table manners even when he's not eating. He has claimed in print that he's listed in one of them and I've always wanted to know if that's true. I would hunt it down over here, but I wouldn't know where to look. If you can find it and possibly copy a fragment of the contents of his "definition" I'd be most grateful, my dear. Thanks for the rundown of a few of your equally-exquisite coutrywomen that have "won the hearts of men the world over." You're in excellent company!
